Recently I started dosing KCl (bulk salt 99.9% pure, diluted in RODI) but for some reason I get an increase in Mg reading.

For +10ppm of Potassium I get about +130ppm in Magnesium. Both tests are Salifert and I double checked Mg with a brand new test kit, Salifert again, just in case.
No Mg was added in this period through the dosing pump or water change. Both Kh and Ca remain stable at 7 and 420 respectively, with no change in ml added daily.

Is there a connection between these two elements, is KCl somehow interfering with Salifert Mg test, could it be that the KCl salt contains Mg as well or something else is going on?

No, dosing potassium chloride won't affect the magnesium level. I'd check the contents of the product you're adding. It might have a lot of magnesium in it, although that seems strange.
