Here is my 3.7 Pico Reef.

- 3.7 Gallon Petmart all in one glass tank
- Kessil nano light
- Rio return pump
- Hydor heater
- Hydor auto top off
- submersible white led light for refugium
- digital thermometer

Its 6 months old and its by far more difficult than my 80 gallon.
Many of the coral are recovering from my neglect.
At first i tried to top off the tank manually, but that was not a good idea. I would often times forget to top off or just simply couldn't keep up with the evaporation rate. I just recently bought an auto top system and the coral are recovering.
I have some zoas, leathers, some favia that are recovering, xenia, gsp, lepto, scrool and mushrooms

1 hermit crab and a sexy shrimp

Nice, I just started a nano reef. Thinking of getting a ATO later on.

Nice tank. What makes it more difficult than your 80g? What lights are you using for the chaeto on chamber 2?
Tank looks nice.

Thanks!

All the corals are recovering well after I installed the ATO.

The light is Mingdak LED Aquarium Light For Fish Tanks,Submersible Crystal Glass Lights. I got it from amazon for $11.
The light is great for growing chaeto. I have to trim it at least once a month.

I have the same tank and light. I made a Media basket for the first chamber and upgraded the pump. I can't decide if the light is enough or not. How is it working for your corals?

Good question. I keep adjusting it. I think its too powerful for that tank so I have it at a low setting.

I'm looking at starting a pico/ nano as well, what makes this harder to maintain vs. your 80?

I have the same tank. I made this media rack and put it in the first chamber. I was wondering where you got your submersible light? I just put some chaeto in the second chamber. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170518/3fcbe98208888ccdb08e9b857ac65a22.jpg

For the past month I have had a nasty yellow/brown thick film over the water. I added the tiniest skimmer I have ever seen and it skimmed the film out of the water. Skimmer works great and it was only 25 bucks.

I still have a red flatworm problem. Not sure how to solve it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170713/b347dc1df01797e6188f27a9868a4735.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170713/3245e16555f50549051bc909112b5fb2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170713/bea38afb5fc1ea532630f2dfd0ab3d09.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170713/e88ee44069c5d560efdf9041131d9e5e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170713/5fc78d2f92fa0ff17ed040903cd56715.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170713/54fc55ead6d6b38e15a12e8cd2afb6a3.jpg

Another note:

- sps growing. I have a red monti cap and bird's nest that have grown. The red Monti cap in the middle is not doing well.

- Xenia spreading like crazy as expected

- acan is growing

- zoas growing very slowly

- gsp for some reason is not happy. It's never liked this tank

Update

I was battling red flatworms for a while in the nano tank.
Did countless flatworm exit treatments but they would always come back.

I decided to break it down and start fresh

This is the one month mark.

After a couple more months I'll move it back to my office.

I used corals, water, rocks, sand and cheato from my main tank which I know does not have red flatworms.

Here are some pics after the breakdown

Thank you! My chaeto has been dwindling. Not sure if it's light or flow related.

Maybe not enough nutrients in your water?

Almost all are growing back after the crash I had a few months ago (flatworm exit treatment). https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/f0454d8eed77455a1c99a22b8672796b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/724b5a9430fe1c431934c4a2a8c20c12.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/567dba0913d6b5bcc550d240fbd36263.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/9f15d57296797ec63ac92f37999969fb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/9aa8baf83ec19eb5ca492ddf53ac49d3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/61c789c653f21cde1b8fb8f4670ecc88.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/b75c3075caa64aadfb11b951d4799432.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/07c1e94444bf77b9ae5ed4988694d2b9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170921/8b9eaffebb34e30928f84cd6298f9af2.jpg

Thank you so much for the link to the protein skimmer. I just bought one too. What is the rating on your rio pump? I wish I could fit a wavemaker in this tank. My corals have always done so much better with one. All of your corals look really healthy. Are you using any supplements or media?
