Trying to decide which skimmer to purchase for my JBJ 45gal rimless tank. I've read a lot of good reviews on the Aquamaxx HOB-1 (however it is a hang on back) vs in sump.

Also, the Vortech MP10 or Maxspect Gyre 130?

What are the recommendations out there?

The HOB-1 is a good skimmer, however if you have a sump there are better choices.
As far as the pump goes I like the MP10 since the Gyre impellers always break. Plus no cords in the tank.

Aquamaxx makes a nice product. Solid design, easy care and if you clean it and the pump regularly it will last you for years. They are excellent skimmers. HOB or Sump. Both are excellent.
