How big food for a mag?

I have a huge (18 inch) Mag, and don't feed it as often as I should. Should I feed it seafood for humans (shrimp, squid, fish pieces, etc)? How big of pieces?

i use peeled, uncooked shrimp from the seafood department. ive also used scallop, crab, fish, squid....

even large magnificas will appreciate only small 3/4" - 1" pieces of food.

I use cubes that are about .5 inch each side. 1-3 of those cubes for large Mag. Or a small shrimp peeled and cut into 1/2 inch segments.

Why peel the shrimp?

I never feed them - at least not on purpose. Feeding them means they out grow your tank more quickly. They'll do that anyhow, just not as fast.

They like it better. They will spit out the shell later anyway if you feed them shrimp with shell
