I am just curious. I don't use tap water in my system but decided to test the phosphate level in my tap water. It measures around 2 ppm. Can you guys test your tap water and tell me how your phosphate levels compare?

The primary reason I switched, after 20+ years of using tapwater, to a ro/di system was because of the seasonal fluctuations in both Phosphates and Nitrates. Especially in mid to late summer, if we got a hard rain the runoff would cause a spike and I would end up with a horrible algae bloom. Since I made the switch, no more spikes!

Last time I tested my tap water it was 1ppm phosphate. We're in an agricultural area so my guess is it's still at least that high.
