A few weeks ago I started a thread inquiring about the lifespan of butterflies. I had a longnose that I had for over four years that quit eating. I thought he might be approaching the end of a normal lifespan. He had more than doubled in size since I got him and he was a model reef tank fish.
Well, over a week or so he resumed eating. And now he has started eating LPS coral. He is killing a four and a half year old Elegance Coral that was at least six times the size it was when I got it and an orange Hammer Coral that had quadrupled in size in the last four years.
I guess I value the fish more than the corals and would even let the tank go FOWLER if he continues picking the flesh off the LPS corals.
Anybody else have a model citizen go rogue after four years?
