Confirm this is a mag and what coloration do you think it is? Is it worth a somewhat lengthy drive. It's 8 months strong in its current tank, he's asking 80 bucks. He's describing as light purple with blue tips.

Any stable healthy mag in an established tank is worth a drive across country for me!

You have to give us some pics with just white lights blues make it so it's hard to see the actual color but the nem looks really healthy if you can get it I would definitely go for it

He's suppose to send me more pics today with more of a daylight spectrum. If it is purplish with blue tips is that a rare coloration?

If it has blue tips, I would definitely say it's a rare color combination. However, I think this mag is brown/magenta with white tips. It may appear blue under heavy actinic/blue light.

Here's one I had (under a Kessil A360w with 100% white and about 50% blue):

For $80, I would pick it up. You avoid having to treat it with Cipro, which to me is worth the price alone. For example, if you picked up a newly collected nem for only $30, then paid yourself $10 a night to treat it, then at 5 days, you're already at your $80 price.

I will probably make the long drive and get it either way. What are your guys thoughts on where to put it? Obviously they go where they want but the one I added a few weeks ago has not moved from the top left rock structure from day one. All the leathers can be relocated, if needed.

I think it is hard to tell. Blue tip is nice but like D-Nak said above, we cannot judge how blue those tips are if any.

Thanks for evaluating, I know it's not the best pick under the heavy blue lighting. Awaiting better pics but even if it is not blue tips, it still looks very healthy and I will most likely make the drive this weekend to get it. You guys have any placement suggestions based on the lay out of my tank above. Horrible pic concerning color filter distorting but you can still see the layout. Thanks

Should be getting the other mag Saturday. I have set up a location for him, tell me what you think. On the flat rock to the right of the current mag.

DNak you were correct about color. He still looks super healthy so I'm making the drive in the morning to get him.
