Dj power strip

The dimensions are 19.5 x 6 x 2.5 inches....Here is a stupid question.... The strip is 6" deep right?... How is it installed? Inside the cabinet? Outside? What hardware? Will it corrode with the salt? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I just cannot picture how this would be installed?

It will corrode I use it outside of cabinet, but if you have well ventilated cabinet then it's ok. I handed open back and added the fans in my stand.

Mine is almost 7 years old, looks just like the day I bought it, no corrosion or issues. My stand is well ventilated and that is the key to keeping the corrosion off of equipment as well as heat management of the sump area.

That install would not work for me. I have a 24 x 24 x 36 stand. The one sold buy scaquariums. Still don't know how I would install it.

I've had mine for about a year and a half now on my new tank with no issues. (Different brand but pretty much the same.) Mounted it vertical on the side of the cabinet next to the sump with a couple screws. (Open back stand.)

My stand is usually close up, it isn't open like that all of the time. This is an old pic but you get the idea.

It may be helpful if you posted some pics of the stand you have, both open and closed.

I have mine attached via Heavy Duty Velcro on the cabinet wall and it holds great.

any metal inside the cabinet will corrode. all it takes is for your skimmer to go nuts once and start spraying salt water (from bubbles bursting on the skimmer cover holes) and it starts the corrosion process.

That pic with the dj strip on top, you don't see the back side. I installed mine the same way, and the back side was completely corroded and one day I started seeing smoke coming out of my stand, and saw something inside the dj strip is burning. So in that pic, you see the skimmer cup is right behind the dj strip, so once the skimmer overflows and starts spraying saltwater, your dj strip will corrode.

I have replaced that with a plastic, power strip style with individual switch per outlet.

I don't think humidity itself will corrode the metal. we all know evaporation does not carry salt with it, only water.

There isn't much ventilation for the stand. Could you mount it on the back with the switches facing out?

This is something I did years ago thinking out of the box before there were integrated timers in lights and before leds. It's just an old home entertainment center. I had zero room under the stand as I had a refug, sump, and reactors all taking up space. I wanted the least amount of electronics and electrical stuff under the stand due to splashing and such.
