I just filled my tank (rock, sand and water). It is a 29 gallon PetCo special. The screen I built for the top used to fit snug, but now when filled, there seems to be a bow to the front. Is this normal for a glass tank?

My buddy cut the middle brace on his 55 gallon and the glass bent out like a bow front so the glass can bend. I'm not an expert but I can imagine that's a good sign. Good luck :)

That's not much of a gap, I wouldn't be concerned. Glass does have some ability to flex without breaking

Glass is not a solid, and it can move over time. Personally I wouldn't be worried about that small amount of flex. But I would watch it over the next 6 months to see that it doesn't move any more.

Thanks. I tend to be overly paranoid.
