So, I ordered the package for a competition. If you google "100 days of nanos challenge Where the Wild Things Are" it will be the first hit and you can get the full details there.

I wanted to do something different. I've always been pretty sterile in my start ups with reef-cleaners dry rock and carib-sea. I wanted something more unique, more interesting and less predictable. I did a little bit of googling and while some LR shippers looked nice, I didn't feel they were worth the extra money.

Well, then I came across TBS and at first I was like "eh... its probably like the others, website looks a little sketch..." But I never judge a book by its cover so I went to the testimonials and was absolutely blown away. I talked to my husband who was like "Eh... she always makes things more awesome then what they are" but he realized I was not making things up.

So we placed an order for a 15 gallon package for an IM 14 peninsula and a Fluval EVO 5 gallon to house a mantis shrimp (which I requested).

Outside of my mantis shrimp, the only thing I specifically requested was "anything and everything".

When part one arrived, it was live from the get go. We had a cling fish ride in with the sand, olive snails, crabs, you name it. We had the whole ocean minus sharks and a whale. I hardly had any cycle which last about 7 days for the last of the nitrite to come down. The ammonia only registered for the first day.

When my second shipment arrived, we were blown away. It was just unbelievable.

The tanks have been up for almost a month now (June 10th will be a month) and I have had no major losses of anything except for what the mantis is hunting. The macro growth is phenomenal, the diversity of life is incredible. All 3 fish are eating strongly (I had two clingfish hitchhike and an "extra" seaweed blenny) But I think the pictures will speak for themselves.

Now, the 14 gallon is pure TBS. From the sand to the livestock, I have made no additions at all.

The 5 gallon I have added GSP, clove polyps, and zoas. The rest is TBS (oh, and most of the sand was carib sea, I added a top layer of TBS sand to seed it though)

And I would love to post more photos but RC makes that very difficult, so here are two older FTS and for more you'll just have to google. I've spent a half hour trying to get the images to display at an appropriate size and I'm not re-uploading to a different site.

I could go on. I have hundreds of photos. TBS is amazing. Dan did a spectacular job. Go buy yourself a package!
