anyone use this on your reef tank?
I added new fish, older fish didn't like the new neighbors...
The older fish have stressed out so bad they now have ick and cloudy eyes :(

Melafix and Pimafix have some usefulness but unfortunately they won't do anything for ich. They are beneficial if you had fish which obtained wounds where bacterial/fungal infections were a concern.

melafix is tree extract, natural anti-biotic... wont work on parasites.

There is no reef safe treatment for ich. see the sticky for treatment options.

Cloudy eyes doesn't sound like ich, you might have velvet.

I'd recommend removing all fish and putting them in a hospital tank and treating with chloroquine phosphate. available from ebay, your local veterinarian, or on amazon as New Life Spectrum Ich Shield: Powder (not the food). dose 15mg/l for urenoma dose 20mg/l. turn off lights as UV removes it. you can do water changes, just add the dosage to the new water. leave treatment in tank for 20-30days CP will kill pipefish and sea horses, and some wrasse. so use caution there.

if it is ich you'll want to wait around 70-90 days before moving your fish back to the display tank. otherwise the eggs can hatch and re-infect your fish.
