Looking at chucking my radions gen 2s and getting the giessmann auroras.... I have a 72 inch tank, the lights only come in a 36inch or a 60inch.... would I be better off getting two 36 to come the whole tank or one 60

I have a 72" fixture.
The end lighting is close enough to really help with algae on the glass.
I would be inclined to get the 60" if you don't mind the ends slightly dimmer.

Depends how much dimmer it would be... unfortunately two 36 inch fixtures are going to run 3500 bucks... ick

I don't have it, I'm a T5 guy myself. Looking to add some leds to my setup though. Just haven't found which ones yet though

not radion Gen 2... I had way more coral growth with my old t5 fixture on my 75 gallon

Well I was thinking the Gen 2's, they are just for supplementation

Im just not a big fan of the radions. Ecosmart live is always having issues connecting to my radions too

60" light will work great on a 72" tank. I'm running a 10 bulb ATI on my 72" tank. The lower light on edges is not really noticed.

What makes you think that these boards will be any better than the G2s? Gieseman is not a leading-edge LED company, although I have always found their stuff to be of the highest build quality. IMO, you are spending 2500 bucks on the same thing that you have now if you just added the T5s. If you were happy with the T5s when you ran them, then get a 8 bulb ATI, or the like.

I'm guessing it's a open canopy tank so maybe spending the extra money for a clean look is what he likes. I agree gieseman best lights I have ever used. Outstanding quality. I would like to change my light out for a gieseman spectra.

its a closed canopy... im really only looking for the LEDs for the color... I loved my t5 fixture and it wasn't even a really good one and it still grew coral better than my gen 2. maybe I will look into a just t5 fixture. I just really like the build quality of the aurora but unfortunately their is barely any reviews at all on it.
