I am floating a fire shrimp and emerald crabs. I was told to drip acclimate for 2 hours. I just checked the bag salinity and it matches what my tank is. Is there any reason to drip for two hours once the temps match if the salinity matches?

You also have to match the ph cause the they're semtive to any changes regarding the ph. I know i should have done the extended drip period to 3 hrs. When acclimating my new porcelain anemone crab

Any major ph changes could result in ph shock, you might notice how your crab or shrimp would show decreased movement in the process

I guess this could happen, but IME over the years, I just temp acclimate and dump them in. Never lost a single one.

If temp and s.g. are the same, I would just dump them in too.
