View Full Version : Advice on Rescue Coral

Hi all,

I picked up this rescue coral two weeks ago at an LFS. Apparently the prior owner had just turned in all his tank inhabitants to the LFS the day before.

I'm assuming this is some type of Euphylia, but let me know if you see something different in the pictures.

My main question is that the second head on this coral has gone into a serious state of decline.

Pictures are below, but I'm curious if this second head is a goner at this point? If so, any advice on what I should do? Should I just remove the dead/dying flesh and leave the stony portion? Or should I take a bone cutter and take off the entire branch just above the Y (like I'm making a new frag)?

I'm still going to give it a few days to see if it bounces back, but wanted to collect some advice in case it doesn't.

Here's what it looked like when I brought it home two weeks ago:

What are your parameters ? What kind of lighting and flow do you have it in?
