Hi I am new to reefing so wanted to start a thread where maybe I can show the progression of my tank and maybe pick up some does and don't to keep me on track.
Al start with my equipment
Fluval 1000 aquarium
Lt pro 5 led lighting
Eheim jagar 300w
Aqua one g series skimmer
Using iaquatics salt mix
With a mix of live rock and the ocean rock.

I'Am slowly building my test kits
Salinity 1.024
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Phos 2.0 I have 250ml of phosguard in for this
dKH 15.3

Also using 2x purigen bags
Activated carbon I plan to stop using this tho.
Also have bags off media in the sump

Get rid of the sump media IME it's causes more problems than it worth. I would raise the salinity to: 1.026. DKH is a bit on the high side. Other than those issues I think you are on track tank look's good.

Once you add corals you'll need to test for calcium, alkalinity and magnesium

Yeh I have been raising the salinity but after I got a high alk reading I fort I would do it at a slower pace. I was bought a leather toadstool and some zoanthids as a birthday gift. Zoanthids seem to be doing ok and already split off onto another rock but the toad not so well. She's shed her skin an just doesn't look like I think it should.
