Having trouble reconciling rated chiller capacities. Maybe I'm doing the math wrong. 8 BTU to lower the temp of a gallon of water by 1 degree. So a 4,000 BTU unit will drop a 250 gallon system by only 2 degrees? Does that sound right? Or is it C rather than F, which would make it more like 3.5 degrees. Don't think so though. BTU is an old British measurement Unit; well before they went metric (240 pence to the pound, with 1/4 penny coins; how does that make any sense). Anyhoo .......

Google is your friend.

The Brits didn't always use the metric system - forget when they switched. It's been a while. Miles, imperial gallons, shillings, farthings ...... you know, the good old days.
