Is there any reason to run both chemipure blue and chemipure elite in a tank at the same time? Would it be harmful to do so?

It should not be harmful..
I'd expect there is a difference in what they are targeted to do so sure there could be a benefit..

I'd ask what problems you are suffering from that you think you need to run both for though.. I personally have never used nor needed those products in my reef tanks..

From my understanding Chemi Pure Blue = elite + purigen
I used Blue for a long time maybe a year or so. it did exactly what it was supposed to do.
i ended up switching to this stuff my LFS carries. Chemi Pure is great I just got tired of ordering it from Amazon. I can go into my LFS and grab this GAC they have. I can't remember the name of it though. I think it might be PureLock Activated Carbon.

Thanks for the input guys! No problems present, but I've always run chemipure of some sort in my tanks. I'm in a situation where I'd like to use two packages and I thought it might be beneficial to diversify the media a bit.
