View Full Version : My smithii is just lying there slowly waving her pleopods...

The water tested fine... I don't know what to do :( I don't want to lose her

She also didn't respond to my finger near her

Also she's in a 10g by herself with live rock and sand.

She seemed more alert today before I left for work...

All that is different is that she's in a critter container which has the extra water blue zoo sent me... guess I'll do a water change in the 10g anyway? :/

Yep she's noticing my finger and reacting to it moving... I'll get the water tested again tomorrow before work

Ok I guess she was just getting ready for a molt. I covered the container so she can finish in peace... how long should I wait to put her back in the 10g?

I am sure someone more knowlegeable will chime in but i personally would acclimate her to the 10g while in the container as not to disturb her and allow her to move out of the container into some sort of cavity. Once she has found a nook to hide in you can see if she has finished her molt by offering food.

She really needs a cavity to be in or she will be stressed and act odd. What is your setup?

Oh lol i see your setup in your other post!

Just allow her to hide and molt. They are pretty hardy and you shouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for responding! I think she molted yesterday or the night before so I'll move her back to her 10 tomorrow :)

So you don't think I need to do a water change?

Do a wc the day you add her back or a couple days after

Yeah I'll do it tomorrow before I put her back
