Hi,
I've read before that Watchman gobies don't grow beyond 3 inches, I also have read varying things about how long they live that she belies. I know that the aquarium lifespan is longer than the wild for obvious reasons. I thought I'd ask for other folks experiences with tank Watchman.

My girl (?) is well over 4 inches and over the years has developed these dark stripes toward the rear? I brought her home from Tropical Isle in Natick, MA in 2/2009. She was bright yellow and about 2 inches. She's shy with strangers but likes me & was inseparable from her companion shrimp (who died a year ago.)

I'm trying to decide if I should find her another shrimp or perhaps another, obviously smaller, watchman.

She's in a small, quiet tank. 37 gallons, 3 inches of sand, about 50 lbs of rock. Plenty of circulation. She seems to be healthy and busy.

I appreciate all that I've picked up lurking on this forum over the years. Thanks, Elizabeth

I have a yellow watchman that I've had since spring 2005. He was full grown when I got him... has changed back and forth from white to yellow a few times over the years. Spent some time with pistol shrimp but has spent most of his time without one over the years. Lost track of how many different tanks he's lived in.

I bought a pink spot watchman goby in 2005. It did get bigger over the years and is now about 5". So I've had it just about 12 years and no idea how old it was when I purchased it. Has never had a shrimp pairing. Eats everything. Started in a 150, then moved to a 180, then a 120, and now a 300. I'm curious how long it will live. But it shows no signs of slowing down.
