I need a compact skimmer from amazon for a 93 gallon cube. It has to be able to have the cup emptied in 24" of height. It also needs to fit in 10x12.

Here are a few that seem to fit the specs. Other recommendations are welcome.

What should I get and why?

I'm currently leaning toward the reef octopus 152-s as it fits my requirements, bulk reef supply seems to like it, it's $260, and people here seem to say these things are good quality. Also, supposedly handles a heavy bio load for 90 gallons.

Was a bit of a time crunch. Went with the 152-s. But I'm still curious about people's opinions between these skimmers. I hear good things about the SCA-302 which costs less.

Thanks!

I have the BM Curve 7 and am very pleased. I had an SCA 301, it wasn't the same quality as the BM.

The quality was the reason I went with the Reef Octopus. People like the SCA-302 it seems. But the pumps are definitely a source of pain on them.

I also assumed the pumps for RO would be decent and readily available when they fail. The skimmer that died was an SWC I got second hand with the rest of my setup and is probably 6-8 years old. I didn't even try and get a new pump for it.

Also, this RO skimmer will likely only be on my current tank as a hospital/quarantine tank in the future (new display tank in the near future). It really just needed to be decent and fit in the space.

I would recommend the Simplicity.

I would recommend the Simplicity.

Do you mean this?

https://www.amazon.com/Simplicity-120DC-Protein-Skimmer/dp/B0178HW8D4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499711041&sr=8-1&keywords=simplicity+skimmer

I hadn't heard of the brand, and it didn't come up as prime. So I didn't give it a lot of consideration. If it's controller driven can it be driven by the new apex?

Why that over the others?
