I am dosing 20.5ml of b-ionic alk supplement per day while only dosing 6ml of calcium. I am new to dosing 2 part in this manner as I've always used kalkwasser or dosed 2 part manually without putting too much thought into dosage amounts. Does this seem abnormally out of balance?

Alk 7.5

Ca 450

CA is fine, Alk is slightly low. NSW is 8, many run higher.

Over time, if the tank gets no water changes and no other supplements, the calcium level should drop, most likely. In a lot of tanks, though, water changes are enough to keep the calcium level up. There are some processes that will remove only alkalinity, though:

I am OCD about alk and check almost daily, but only check calcium weekly. My tank uses about 1.7 dKH daily

I check my alk daily as well, sometimes twice if the ph isn't where I think it should be by that point in the day.

I run a zeovit system. I know acids are produced during the nitrogen cycle and my tank has a very active bacterial population so I suppose that could account for the excessive amount of alk used.

I just needed some confirmation that this seemed normal.
