It will depend on your Bio load. But it is a good starting point. You mat want to consider a skimmer with the pump on the outside of the body as it will have a large water volume which means more contact time.

This is just about the only skimmer that will fit in the sump I picked within my price range

I would stay away from Bubble magus and SCA skimmers. They have crappy pumps, long run you will regret. They skim well, but soon enough they will get noisy.

I've had a mag 5 going for a couple years now on my 75G. I like it, the skimmer skims well, and the pump is still quiet. I do regret not getting the 7 though. My sump is 21 inches high and the drain port on the 5 isn't high enough to get over the tank side to use an external drain can.

I have the Mag Curve 5 running on a two tanks joined into one sump total 100 gall been running 24/7 for a year still very quiet pulls out lovely black skimate, excellent value for money.

I run a curve 7 on my 90 and am very pleased with it. It's not anything like the pump on the SCA skimmer. I ran an SCA too but the Curve 7 blows away the SCA.
