We have resurrected our seahorse breeding project.
We have obtained 3 male orange, 2 female orange and 1 female H. erectus brightly colored seahorses.
We have another yellow female on standby and are looking for one more male.
They are currently housed in a 35 gallon hex aquarium in the back of our livestock retail section.
We are working on converting them to eating frozen food. Currently we are feeding them frozen mysis and live brine shrimp.
None have spawned yet.

One of our male H. erectus males has released a total of between 30 and 40 live babies and many more premature babies over the last 3 days. None have settled yet and they are all in an 8 gallon Kreisel and feeding on baby brine shrimp (bbs)
check our facebook page for a video of one of the babies

We have about 10 babies still alive.
The male looks ready to pop again
The babies started turning bright yellow yesterday
We started adding apocyclops panamensis to their food after they started turning yellow. No particular reason for the timing. We probably should have started feeding them from hatching.

A few days ago we had a large batch of ponies about 346. This time the male release them all within 10 minutes. Later the same day he was observed mating.

Unfortunately the following day all of the adult seahorses in our display tank were dead. I really don't know why. They were all healthy and eating and we had them for at least a few months. I am guessing one died and the resulting ammonia spike killed the rest.

The babies were in different systems and are doing fine
