My Magnifica split naturally last night. Picture first thing this morning. He did look off the last few days with somewhat open mouth.

Woohoo!!! Congrats Minh, that's super exciting. How long have you had this anemone for? I assume you never feed it directly?

beautiful! We have one of these that is very large in size. Would be very neat to see it split.

He is not that big, only about 16 inches or so. I have not feed it directly forever. He is slightly too big for where I want him so no feeding directly, but he does get a lot of light. Now that I know he split, I think I just pile food on him trying to get him to grow and split. Nice color anemone, purple column and yellow tipped.

So why do you think some split and some do not? I had a HUGE mag a while back (easily 24" expanded) that just would not split. Eventually I had to rehome it.

Nice looking anemone. Even better when you have two. I'm hoping for the same to happen with mine eventually

I once received one of those with two mouths. It came from the wild like that and it kept those two mouths for several years, then one day decided to start splitting across between the mouths. One of the new pair split a couple of times again over the next year.

That one arrived over 12 years ago and I got one of the offspring but mine hasn't split in the 7 or so years I have had it. Not sure I want it to as the one I have is quite happy up on its rocky peak but an offspring might wander about looking for a new home.

Very nice, are these harder to keep then btas? Im thinking of getting one but i never see them at the lfs in my area. Are they expensive? Thanks

Thanks,
They are much harder to keep than BTA IMO. Please do not attempt until you research on their requirements and make sure you can provide for them.
