I have a nice green montipora carpricornis chilli pepper frag two month ago , it look bright and striking color in first month, the it turn bleached overtime but some part on the coral still has tinted green color at the edge and under the coral and small reddish orange polyp can be seen over the coral, judging by their extended polyp, i assume my monti is alive but it maybe stressed and unhappy my water parameter is good as nitrate is 0.25 and phospate is 0.01, ph is about 8.3-8.4, alk is 9 dkh, and cal is 460 ppm and i using a 20 w LED light with blue, white and yellow and my LPS and softie are happy with the light, water movement is good also because coral ls placed close to powerhead which other, i wonder my my monti lost his color and how to get his color back

alk is 9 dkh, and cal is 460 ppm and i using a 20 w LED light

My lime green monti will pale a little if I get any kind of Alk swing, are you monitoring your ALK or dosing to keep it stable?

What size tank are you running a 20W LED on? I cannot see that being enough for even a monti.

My tank is 20 gallon and i struggle to keep a alkalinity/kh between 9 to 12 dkh by using a sodium bicarbonate 4 time per week. i wondering if it has to do with a lightning who affect the coloration of my sps, but my few lps , along with the soft coral seem to be happy with the current led lightning, i also dosing my tank with continumm coralline xp every 3 time per week to accelarate and boost a coralline algae growth

You really need a better light IMO for SPS.

And yes with a swing of 3 DKH any SPS you put in the tank will not do well, they need very stable ALK. I run a 21gal tank and keep my ALK between 8.4-8.8 through out the day, stable is key.
SOdties and LPS will tolerate a much higher swing but sill 3 DKH is pretty harsh.

, the LFS say that 20w led would work for most coral, and you just say that sps need more more better light system what type of lightning system you recommend for sps coral?, how about T5 or kessil tuna blue led ? However, most advance kessil is about 1000 MYR in our local store , also you just mention about alk swing, i also dosing a calcium supplemet to accelerate coralline, did too much cal can cause alk swing too?, also it is safe to raise alk to 1 or 2 dkh at one time? as i dont have any dosing system and had to dosing manually

I wouldn't move Alk more than 1 dkh/ day spread out over the day.
