So DD has been selling lightning maroons for $80-$100 each. However, ordering them from your local Petco might be cost effective. I saw a pair today at $40 each. However, the store had them marked down 25% off to sell both as a pair. That's $30 each.

Didn't buy them. Just a PSA.

That would have been hard to pass up. The only way I'd do something like that though is if they went into QT for awhile

If they were wild caught lightning clowns from PNG I would not have passed on them at $40 each. Their price would've probably been around $4,000 though if they were wild.

I have also seen the gold nugget maroons for cheap there.

Big breeder + big brick and mortar store/large online presence (probably the biggest account for breeder) = cheap prices. I was hoping to see LA prices drop as a result, but no such luck.

In hindsight, I'm glad I didn't try to get in early and breed these. I wouldn't have gotten much out of it.

I think Petco has good prices on their stuff. I got a small Duncans coral for $13. They called it Whisker, I know I paid more than that for the one I got online. I got my lawnmower blenny there. I wish I had one closer.
