Hi I have a 6ft tank that is mostly sps, I manually add magnesium at the moment that I will add to a doser when I get one.

I do a 100 litre water change a week but wanted to back that off to every other week.

I looked at Red Sea abcd but you need to know how much you dose the work out how much to put in so I was wondering what everyone else does for the minor elements.

Thanks

Tim

You don't need it. Calcium reactors will replenish trace elements.

Does that depend on the type of media used?

I'm unfamiliar with that, is it synthetic? I use reborn, which is dead coral skeletons, so what dissolves into the water is precisely what living corals need to grow new skeletons.

I suspect that a regular water change schedule of about 10% a month will be more than enough to keep the trace elements in line. I agree that the reactor media will have some as well, although I doubt that's important. Food is another source of trace elements.
