View Full Version : Does Cupramine have a shelf life

About two more years ago I purchased a 250 ml bottle of Cupramine which I never ended up using it until this week. I've added the recommended amount over at 48-hour time period, testing in between to be sure I didn't overdose (1.9ml in 20g). The issue I am having is that I cannot get a reading on my test it. I have a Seachem multi test copper kit. To ensure that the test kit is accurate I ran a reference test with the reference vial that came with the test kit. That reference test came out as it should, so that tells me that my test kit is good. The only thing that I can think of is that Cupramine has a shelf life and it has gone bad. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? One thing to note is that within the bottle there were some stringy filament type substances floating within liquid that I strained out on a coffee filter ( see picture). Is this an indication that the product is gone bad?

Thank you
