Just got back from Atlantis in the Bahamas and I'm thinking of a new idea for my 180g tank. Was thinking of a tanks with several fish of the same species. For example a tank of only Powder Blue Tangs. Unsure of what I mean by "several", I love the look of a tank with identical fish. Has anyone ever done this or know of a reason why it wouldn't be a good idea?

IMHO in same species tanks the fish tend to fight. Especially as they grow and get territorial. Also for a blue tang, with multiple BLUES in a 180, it's going to get extremely crowded (not enough space). Cool idea though. I've seen all clown tanks be extremely successful and then I've seen them fail. I'd do a vast amount of research. Hope it works out for you. Seems like a cool idea.
