hello

I am new to the forum but have had tanks most of my life, got out of it for a few years while my daughter was younger but she is helping with this new setup.

What I have setup is 150gal saltwater with lifereef sump in cabinet under it, I did not have room for the roller mat under cabinet so I mounted it to the back outside of cabinet. The problem I have is when I do a power failure test, the water the roller mat holds probably little less than 2 gallons is just enough to overflow my sump, I know lowering the level in the sump is the first answer but the problem with that is if I lower it enough it is making my return pump suck air. So what I need is somewhere for the 2 gallons it holds to go in a power failure situation. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Plumb in another tank next to the sump?

A check valve would probably work, but I would not rely on it.

Thanks, yes first thing I thought but the water flows one way so check valve would not work, I thought about coming off it with like a 5gal ATO tank, just wanted to know if anyone else had any other ideas.
