SUPER job Jessie!
So, what was the set up? I did little reading and came away with without some filter setup you could damage sensor.

I have a bunch I took with my Nikon P900 super zoom. This is my favorite. I have some partial eclipse pics and a story at my build thread. Here is a link to the post:

Thanks guys. Just a standard 1800mm zoom lens (the Nikon P900 has a 24mm to 2000mm built-in zoom) with no filter and set in the 'Moon Photo' mode. All I had to do was aim it! LOL!

This one was with the solar filter and a bit of cloud cover.

Amazing!

Basically, yes... sort of. It's what has become known as a 'bridge' camera. It's really a somewhat sophisticated point and shoot camera with a big zoom lens built in. The P900 is the biggest zoom out there currently at 83X. I believe it starts at 22mm or 24mm wide angle and goes out to 2000mm telephoto (I'm 100% sure on the 2000mm). It's as big, maybe even bigger than a good DSLR camera and with the big zoom, it's heavy. But boy is it versatile!

This is a shot of the moon I did a week before the eclipse just practicing. This is right out of the camera, just cropped a tiny bit top & bottom so it fits my lap top screen.

I took a picture of rainy clouds to show my friends what it looked like in AK. I won't bore you guys with the details, but think grey and wet.
