Hello my name is Matthew and I just got my 55G cube/column tank up and running. Everything went super smooth on the setup except where the return meets the sump/refugium i had the common problem of it being very loud as it splashed into the sump. No problem went to lowes and got a 1 inch pvc drain pipe and cut it so that it extended under the water line, easy fix the tank is very quiet almost silent. The only problem is that i had cut two pipes and accidentally picked up and the one i didnt rinse :headwallblue: when i started the tank a small amount of fine pvc dust can be seen floating in the tank now. Will my filter sock filter these out or will it require changing the water? Is it a total disaster i cant be the first person who has done this?

Take a clean white paper towel and lay it on surface, lightly enclose and remove, do this a few times, that will take most out.

It is NOT an issue in any way..
Your filter sock will tank any out that makes it to it and if you want you can use a paper towel or cup to skim it out too but it won't cause any harm if you leave it..

Thank you guys sooo much for the tips but it seems like i may have been over reacting a bit. The little specs i was worried about were mostly tiny bubbles from when the pump starts and debris coming from the live rock.
