In the sticky about TTM it recommends using prime seachem on day 2 of each transfer. How effective is prime seachem at keeping ammonia at 0?

And when you guys setup an emergency QT in a rush do you dose prime seachem everyday the fish is in QT?

Prime doesn't remove ammonia and keep it at 0, it converts the toxic ammonia to a less toxic ammonium.

For TTM it's really only suggested that you add prime on day 2 for peace of mind more than anything else, the fish isn't in the container long enough really for ammonia to reach toxic levels.

For an emergency QT where you don't have any cycled media, then yes I'd probably add prime every other day or so, not every day there's really no need for that. But I also try to adhere to a strong water change schedule which is about 10% every day or every other day.
