Hello! I recently was wiped out from Brooklynella. I had two fish die in the QT tank. I have a few questions:

How do I go about disinfecting the Qt tank?

Any tips on cleaning the powerhead?

Do I need to get rid of the filter floss and the Bio balls I have in the HOB?

You can sterilize everything with bleach. I would throw away the floss and bioballs and just start fresh. Use about 1 teaspoon of bleach per gallon or use about a 1/2 cup of vinegar. Soak it all and then take everything out and rinse it with fresh water. Wipe everything down and let it air dry for about 24 hours or however long it takes.

What about the live rock? Do I need to get rid of it?

It will need to sit fallow for 76 days or some people bleach it

6 weeks fallow for Brooklynella, 6 weeks for velvet and 76 days for ick
As the shocker said make sure the tank is dry for at least 24 hrs this is the only way to insure a sterile tank
