Is there such a thing? I tried some 2 part epoxy and 3 days later and 3 water changes later my skimmer is finally starting to behave again!

Jb water weld doesn't make my skimmer go nuts, but this all depends on how much your using.

If I'm just doing a frag or 2, I'm fine. If I have to use the entire stick, then it goes nuts for a few hours.

I'm looking at Tunze 400G coral gum instant 2 part from BRS, but it is very expensive, $50. It looks great and they say it won't affect the skimmer. That's a lot of money!!

The "Super Glue" (cyanoacrylate) gels didn't seem to cause much trouble for my skimmers, but I might have been lucky.

I recently bought the coral gum and am not that impressed. Save your $ and use super glue gel. I can get a three pack for $1 at the dollar store.

Tunze Coral gum is the best epoxy I've used. It absolutely does not have a surfactant effect on your skimmer. It cures quickly without becoming brittle, and it's pink so you don't have some odd color to look at until it gets grown over. I like that each part comes in its own container instead of sausage form that needs to be sliced. As far as epoxy goes I won't buy anything else now.

I never get a reaction from my skimmer when using JB Water Weld, and I've used quite a bit of it at one time before. It's a lot cheaper and equally effective and in time all of this stuff gets covered in coralline anyway.

This. Its by far the best frag gluing product I've bought and an order of magnitude cheaper than the stuff sold for aquariums.

Sometimes super glue is appropriate to the application, in many cases it isn't and an epoxy is warranted.
