View Full Version : attaching kessil 360 to 2-3" wide bracing on acrylic tank?

I'm about to order a replacement tank. It's going to be acrylic :-/ << that's another story lol. BUT I have the 360's, and the existing clamp it comes with clamps onto a vertical edge. The bracing is horizontal. Is there a way to use the clamp to clamp on to this horizontal edge?
**IF not then the maker of the tank will put a vertical panel that goes up over the top of the back side of the tank to provide a place to clamp vertically. I'd rather not, since it's altering the top of the tank. But it's not a BAD idea, since the back of the tank will be against a window/wall.
But id rather have it clamped onto the existing brace... IF a brace can even take that weight/torque --- maybe not!

Thanks for input! .. I'm ordering tank in next 0-2 days :) .. NEED replacement for my irma messed up tank :)

Kessil gooseneck doesn't actually put much torque on the tank. Why not have the builder tap holes in the brace that you screw the gooseneck into.

i forgot about this thread.. BUT kessil makes a bracket (actually an extension to the lamp holding bracket that would normally connect to the tank rim) that attaches to the stand. That is what I ended up getting. Came out nice.
