I recently have tons of red slime frowing jn my tank.

I have a red sea max c250

I just ordered new filters for my rodi maker from bulk reef not sure how old the filters are that ive been using.

I have an emperor, grey tang and blue hippo in the tank.

Shoupd i be brushing off the rocks and letting my skimmer grab it since it wont come up when i syphon my sand. Goes into the tube then seems to heavy and comes out.

And suggestions on a cure or a place to start. I only run my lights about 6 to 7 hours s day.

You are aware that those fish need a much larger tank than what you have right?

Cyanobacteria basically means you need to do more water changes as you have excessive nitrates/phosphates/dissolved organics.. (aka.. dirty water/insufficient maintenance)

What are your nitrate/phosphate test results?

What is your current water change schedule?

Sometimes turning the lights off for 3 days will cause the cyano to die back (but thats just a cover up)..
You can try a product like red slime remover or chemiclean which are an antibacterial treatment.

Agree with mcgyvr. You just need to do more frequent water changes and maybe feed a bit less.

May I ask where you got your RSM C250? Seemed like only the original RSM 250 was available in the US and the C250 was sold in europe and then discontinued.

Water changes ... measure N and P... then add a scrubber and get chemiclean
