I just bought an elegance coral from liveaquaira.it looks healthy and everything but I really don't know what's coming out of its mouth. There is a brown log looking thing coming out of its mouth. Is it pooping or is there something wrong.
Thanks

Typically during shipping there may be an increase in zooxanthellae inside the coral..
Then they can/will expel that excess when the light levels increase to regulate the amount in them..
Its also sort of a sign of too much light too fast and its letting you know to reduce the light/acclimate it slower..

So should I try moving it to a more shaded part?

I cant see the image here in australia ,i have had elegance since i first started and still have my original one plus another huge one , i find them fairly tolerant dont freak out during first few weeks if it was me , they dont like to be blasted in flow either so make sure they are in medium flow and light , i sit mine on the outer edges of the light tubes

yes for now to acclimate it slower to the lights..

Aussie elegances are supposedly much easier to keep/maintain vs an Indonesian one..
