Please help! I have had a pair of beautiful Darwin clownfish (pair) for almost a year. Just recently the female has been battering the male to the point I had to put him in very small tank to save him from more wounds and stress. I have no idea why this has happened . Does anyone know? Especially having them for almost a year. I bought them together because they were always a pair. Thank you in advance

Suzyclownfish,

[Welcome]

Conventional wisdom says clownfish will mate for life. However, sometimes they don't read the directions.

I am guessing something caused the female to think the other is also female. You get that sometimes with maroon clowns, where two juveniles will both develop as females. Unfortunately, I suspect there is no going back with this pair.

I suggest you post your question in the Anemone and Clownfish forum. You are more likely to catch the eye of someone with more clownfish experience.
