Garden hose adapter help

Im on my second 1/4" GARDEN HOSE/UTILITY SINK ADAPTER and I cant get them to work without leaking everywhere. They are so tight that the washers are being flatened out. Not sure what else I can do at this point. It wasnt a problem till a few weeks ago. Anyone know of any more heavy duty adapters than the cheap ones BRS sells?

Are you adding & removing the adaptor each time you make RO water? If so you could purchase a Y garden hose adaptor from the hardware store & leave the RO permanently attached to one side, while the appliance or faucet is used on other side of Y. The Y adaptors have little ball valves in place, so you can shut off one side or both, when not in use. HTH

Maybe a bad gasket? As mentioned above, if the issue is you are constantly taking it off and putting back on whenever you make water, go to Home Depot, go to the garden section, and get a "Y" adapter that has a on/off valve for each side. That way you don't have to take on and off.

Sorry that I didnt make that clear. I basically leave it on all the time so a Y adapter isnt really needed. I'll grab a new gasket/washer and see if that helps. I'd still like to find a better adapter though.

What you should really use is this:
John guest Angle Stop Valve 3/8 x 3/8 x 1/4 on the cold water supply line.

That would be ideal but would that work anywhere near my outdoor water supply. Ie where the hose is?

It is made to go in the cold water line under a sink.

would adding a self piercing saddle valve be a good idea. I can get under the house to install it.

I wouldn't recommend a saddle valve. They are notorious for failing, it's just a matter of when.

Figured out the problem.....broken anti-siphon vacuum breaker. I had to dremel off the break-off screw to get it off though. No more leaking and I'll replace this. :wavehand:
