I assume macroalgae fuge?

Kessil H380 and never look back. That's assuming you have a large macro fuge. I love mine.

The is a marshydro size of the Chinese black box that grows chaeto like weeds. 69.99 on amazon can't beat it. I used to use it but i got a h380 instead cause it doesn't cover my sump too much.

I wanted to stay with fixture I had and just get a new bulb
wonder how this is https://www.amazon.com/MarsHydro-Light-Organic-Style-plants/dp/B01ARI3HIG/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1507145162&sr=8-7&keywords=marshydro

I think that would definitely work... remember, your fuge footprint is only 9x11 so I think coverage will be fine. I will be running a Kessil H80 over an 8x10 inch fuge area when I get set up.

My goal one day is to plumb the sump to the basement and have a Large fuge with slop sink next to it for water changes and keep hands out of display at that point I may get the Kessil H80 but now just replace the bulb

I thought about getting the H380, but for my small fuge space and the fact that the H380 is not dimmable, I went with the much smaller H80.

Before the Kessil, I used a taotronics grow light that worked well. Definitely cheaper, but the spectrum is definitely different. It grew chaeto, but had a massive hot spot in the middle.

I use a bulb similar to what u linked & it grows chaeto fine for me. I had decent luck with using a 5000k led bulb but the one I use now does work a little better. It grows from softball size to basketball size in two weeks. Mine is the 32 watt version I believe. I find that chaeto really isn't that picky on the specific light as long as u have enough of it. I think lighting becomes a issue when people underlight the chaeto. A good grow light can make a difference though.

Just look at the LEDs and spectrum. Blues and reds is what you need. Honestly any grow light will today will blow away any old CFL or full spectrum LED. As long as it's not the Reef Bright PAR38, that thing was made 10 years ago and sucks.

You tell me if a "grow" light can grow chaeto better.

^^ Is that light not a "grow" light?

The last one u linked is the exact bulb I am using. I posted it was 32 watts but it's actually the 36 watt version. I don't have room for a light fixture without having to mod some plumbing, but I was going to get the viparspecra that biff linked. I tried the 36 watt taotronics first before having to mod plumbing & it has been working good. I think it would be good on the size fuge u have. I actually have it on a 20 gallon fuge. The chaeto takes up half of the tank so I have the bulb placed on that side of the tank. I don't know about longevity, I have only had it 6 months. I know it is growing chaeto at a good rate.

Lol.

It is a grow light. I was emphasizing the (grow) part, improperly I assume. Though grow lights may not all be created equal a significant advantage can be had growing chaeto with one worth a few dollars if chosen wisely.
