View Full Version : Weir glass, micro bubble issues.

I've got a two-part issue here.

1) I've got a coast to coast overflow on my tank, but my water is flowing fast enough that it separates from the glass and sucks bubbles into the overflow. My glass was cut and the edges were basically just sanded off with a small 45 degree angle. Would increasing the size of the 45 or rounding off the edge help?

2) I'm getting lots of micro bubbles and am having a heck of a time finding the source. I run a basement sump and suspect that the problem is behind my tank, where I have very poor access. I'm planning on shutting the valve on my returns, but allowing slow water flow through a manifold in my basement to pressurize the system and look for a leak. How far can I throttle my pump back before causing an issue? This should only last for a few minutes to an hour.

Thanks!

1) maybe (not likely though IMO if I had to guess)
2) all the way..
