Upgrading from a 45 to a 65. That's my max for this house in the space that my wife has provided me for my tank :headwallblue: , 36". It fits really well in my living room though. Promised her HOB only. She's terrified of ruining our wood floors.
I currently have a Coralife 65 Hob on my 45 (which has, is my newbie opinion done really well in the 6 years that I've had it, easy to tune and always pulls dark) but want to upgrade when I set up the 65. Thinking of getting the Reef Octopus 90 HOB, also looking at the Aquamaxx HOB 1.5.

What say you, ReefCentral? Others?

Thanks for your input!

I have had the Aquamaxx 1.5 for over 6 months Never an issue and afyter the first day never had to tune it. The best thing other then great skimming this unit is as close to dead silent of a skimmer as possible.

Congrats on getting your coralife skimmer to work for 6 years lol mine lasted for about 6 months. But def +1 on the reef octopus. I switched from coralife to reef octopus and the difference is night and day. Love my octo skimmer

I'm a big fan of the Deltec HOB skimmers.

I think my coralife is garbage, using for 9 months now, in my 54, just does not pull dark skim , the tube gets coated in thick dark skim, then that's about it..
