55 gallon fish only tank. Tank has been up for 5 months, no issues to date.

Two clowns, flame angel, yellow tang, three blue damsels, three emerald crabs, blood red shrimp and a golden moray.

Three days ago I lost a crab. Then today, I lost the yellow tang. I noticed the water column as slightly cloudy last night, which is unusual. Nitrates high at 25.

I examine all tank mates tonight and the clowns looks sick.

I am starting a freshwater dip and QT for both clowns, the rest look ok with no visible or behavioral signs of trouble.

Please see attached and help with the diagnosis. Thank you kindly.

Update. Treating for brook. Freshwater dips. DT fallow for 8 weeks.

What to do with the eel? Pull him out of the DT? Put him in the QT? Or keep him away and hope the slime coat prevails.

You need to pull the eel. Though they will not be affected by it, they can still carry it. Treat him with metroplex or acriflavine.

Thanks Justin. LFS mentioned the eel as being a potential in the future.

Update. The three azure damsels and eel made it, for now.

Thank you for the recommendation for the eel.

Any preference between the two Meds?

Would you set up a separate hospital tank for the eel away from the damsels? Or house and treat together?

I would acriflavine dip all fish and the eel before moving to the new tank and dose the tank with metroplex. You could also use formalin as a dip on all fish but not the eel. The fallow period for brook is 6 weeks.

They can all stay in the same tank.

Thank you all, huge help.

Forgive me, where would you find these meds? Can you post a picture of the bottles and give a recommendation on how to acquire them? I am having trouble researching this. Not a lot of info out there.
