ecotech mp10 or mp40 for a 50 gallon?

I’m stuck between the two sizes. I have 12cm thick glass for a 90x45x50 tank. Mp10s say they can only hold on 10cm Glass. While I feel mp40 is just too much for a 50 gallon mixed reef. Should I look at other brands of wavemaking? :sad1:

MP40 is way too much for a 50g tank, go with an MP10 (2 preferably). You can look at other brands if you want to save money, but if you want the best stick with the Vortechs.

Source: I have 2x MP40s on a 4' long tank and I run them at 30% or less. They are crazy powerful.

Agree, 40 is too big.

I have the mp10 on my 70 gallon and have it turned down. They are crazy powerful !

I have one mp10 in my 40g and I can not turn it up at all. It's pretty strong. But I do feel like that the mp40 has a somewhat softer water distribution due to its size.

anyone have mp10 on 12mm Glass? Does it hold?
