Hi all,

I have had these small anemone-like polyps in my tank for around 6 months and was wondering if anybody could ID them. They are mostly transparent with some green fluorescence under strong blue lights, and white tips on the tentacles. In six months they’ve only multiplied from one polyp to about 6 and have stayed on the same piece of rubble that I first saw them on. They expand under dim lighting and low flow, and have a visible feeding response to meaty foods.

Thanks for the help!

I do not think they’re majanos. Tentacle shape isn’t right, and the ball on the top is extremely pronounced. Looking around online I think they’re the pacific variety of ball anemones, definitely a cool little hitchhiker to have picked up. Thanks!

technically, coralimorphs, but commonly referred to as ball anemones. Generally harmless, but can (rarely IME) get out of control

Ok thanks for the heads up. Mind have had pretty slow growth and have all kept to the same isolated chunk of rock so I’m not too worried about them invading. Think I’ll just leave them to do their thing
