I have been using the Aquaticlife RO Buddie 50 GPD

Its been about 5 months and the DI is going out.
Turning brown.

It’s $20 to replace

They have a twist on 100GPD system with DI replacement
at $30

For DI stage, is time also a factor in it getting depleted?

I don’t do 100 GPD, not even 50 GPD. Trying to understand
what is most cost effective system for replacement
regardless of usage.

Stick to what I got and burn $20 every few months?

I read somewhere this buddie replacement is rather
Costly overall.

If your getting the water quaintly and your willing to wait the extra time for the 50 gpd vrs the 100 gpd then why switch. If you want to spend less money just buy a refillable stand alone standard di like this https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/single-deionization-canister.html 30 bucks and some di resin in bulk. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-bulk-deionization-resin-color-changing.html 11.00 this will probably out last the ro buddy by a factor of 5 or 6...
