View Full Version : Hammer Coral healthy but over-inflated...

I've had this Hammer for almost a year and it seems to be perfectly happy and healthy. But, over time, it's polyps have become over-inflated and fat, so you don't really see the "hammer" shape with the contrast. In the pics you can see that toward the bottom they are the way they should be, but that the entire top is all purple and puffed up.

Any suggestions on what I can do to improve its appearance? Is it getting too much light? Too little perhaps? It's on the outside edge of my tank with an AP700 and a couple T5s.

It looks fine to me too. Somtimes they will change their appearance when they are getting close to popping out a new head or splitting. Could be that or it could just be that he is happier then ever before. Personally, it’s not something I would be worried about at this point.
