Hey I'm new to saltwater fish and I was just wandering what size tank would I need for some clownfish and a pair of shrimp and goby.

Minimum would be a 20L or 29 gallon, in my opinion.

Ideally a true 30 gallon or 40 breeder.

This is assuming occelaris / percula clowns and a small goby like a yellow watchman, and not maroon clowns.

One pair, preferably a smaller species like A. ocellaris, where they are either purchased as a bonded pair or as juveniles where one is larger than the other. Any other combination runs the risk of getting two females, which will fight to the death.

You will see schools of them in the LFS. Those are all juveniles and that's fine as long as they stay juvenile.

A larger tank would let you keep larger species. If you want more than one pair, you need a huge tank.
