Tank isn't doing so hot, acros are slowly dying. Finally got a ph probe hooked up to apex. In all my years never really watched ph to closely. But is seems to be swinging from about 8.20-8.25 during day to about 7.93-7.99 at night. Running a 14k 250 watt Phoenix bulb. Lights are on for about 6 hours. Is there anyway to buffer ph ? To keep it higher all the time

It's a natural swing, photosynthesis vs respiration.
0.3-0.4 pH units from day to night is typical.

Any ph level above 7.4, or maybe even lower, is good. PH is nothing to give the slightest concern about. Alkalinity, depending on your coral types, should be monitored. PH will do what it wants to do and there is little you can do about it. (Below 6.3 can be a problem as it would be sufficiently acid to dissolve SPS corals.

Ok, just curious been keeping reefs for years now and have never had a tank were corals just slowly die off. Been going on for like 3 months now. Just acros. Alk is hovers around 9.1-9.5, calc 450-500, mag 1500, salinity 1.026-25, temp 78.5-79, nitrates around 2, phosphates .03 and below. I have never checked for trace elements on my life but I might start now since I can't find any reason for them to be slowly dying. I dose acro power, and feed reefroids and live phyto. Feed brine and mysis. Tank is about 6 months old but rock was transfered from older tank. Tank is 18 inches deep and light is about 10 inches off service. Oh and orp hovers around 360 for the most part wih no real large swings indicating any dirty water or anything. Kinda baffled. Loaded with pods, algae growth is very slow clean my glass like 1 every two weeks or so.

Perhaps a water test. My friend was having issues so he sent his water out to be tested. The results came back with high copper. Turns out his little daughter had thrown some pennies in the sump.

With PO4 at .03 and nitrates at 2 your Alk may be too high. I keep mine at about 8 to 8.2 and don not worry if it drops to 7.8.
